Questions & Answers

We strongly recommend that you use Google Maps to navigate to our venue. Please be aware that the final 20 minutes of your drive from Auburn will be on a narrow, two-lane road with no passing zones, which is often used by RVs and boats. Upon arrival, you’ll park and then take a shuttle to the ceremony site, followed by a short walk up the hill. While we know weddings are infamous for being late, we kindly request that you arrive early and be seated so we can begin our special day on time. *Note: If you know Ashley’s dad, John, you know if you show up on time, you are late. If you show up 15 minutes early, you are on time.

As you arrive at Black Oak, you’ll notice a black iron gate at the entrance. Please proceed through the gate and drive up to the Vineyard Club. You’ll find two gravel parking lots where you can park your car. From there, a shuttle service will be available to take you to the ceremony site. Throughout the evening, you’re welcome to visit your car to retrieve any essentials you may need for the reception.

We’d be thrilled to see our loved ones dressed up for our special day! Please come in your finest semi-formal attire—such as a midi-length dress or dressy separates for women, and a suit and tie for men. We want you to feel confident and comfortable while enjoying your time in Cool, CA. Additionally, we recommend bringing a light jacket that you can keep in the car for later, as it will get cooler after sunset.

In early May it will hopefully not be too cold or too hot. In 2024, Ashley and Ryan were going to visit Auburn on May 3rd but the forecast called for rain so they postponed the trip to the following weekend where it was in the low 100’s. Hopefully this year it will be just right! Plan for a slightly warm day followed by a cooler evening/night when the sun goes down and the wind picks up.

Under the “Travel Section” tab, you’ll find information about two room blocks we’ve reserved for our guests. One option is near Cool, while the other is conveniently located between our venue and the Sacramento Airport. As Cool and its surrounding areas are relatively small, we recommend booking your accommodations in advance to ensure availability. Note: There are some very cute Airbnbs in the area, that are worth checking out!

While we would love to have everyone attend, due to the capacity limitations of our venue, we are only able to accommodate those named on your invitation. Regrettably, we are unable to make any exceptions to this policy. If you received additional guests within your invitation, they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for your understanding.

To RSVP, please click on the “RSVP” tab, which will guide you through the process. Kindly ensure that we receive your response by Sunday, March 30th. If we do not hear from you by this date, we will unfortunately assume you are unable to attend. Thank you for your timely response!

We will miss you celebrating with us, but don’t worry we will find another time to celebrate!

If you find that you’re unable to attend after initially RSVPing “yes,” please let us know as soon as possible. This will help us make arrangements and possibly accommodate additional guests who we were initially unable to include. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us ensure that everyone who wishes to join can do so.

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00pm, so please arrive by 3:30 pm to ensure everyone can find their seats. A shuttle service to the ceremony hill will start at 3:00 pm. We encourage guests to use the shuttle service to facilitate a timely arrival and to enjoy a complimentary welcome drink.

If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please inform us in advance. We will relay this information to our chef to ensure that suitable food options are available for you. For specific food allergies, we’ll make sure to set aside a dish to accommodate your needs.

We are having an “Unplugged Ceremony,” which means we kindly ask that all guests refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony. The greatest gift you can give us is your full presence as we say, “I do.” We have an exceptional photography and videography team who will capture all the special moments, and we promise to share these photos and videos with you once we receive them. After the ceremony, you are more than welcome to take as many photos and videos as you like. Thank you for helping us make our ceremony truly memorable.

Your presence on our special day is the greatest gift of all. If you would like to offer a gift, you can find our registry under the “Registry” tab. Alternatively, if you prefer not to choose from the registry, a wedding card box will be available during the cocktail hour and reception for any cards or gifts. Thank you for being a part of our celebration!
